About

I build the tools I needed to run my own business

I am Bui Van Dat, a software builder from Vietnam and the founder of DatPilot. I design, code, and operate everything myself, with Claude Code as my engineering partner.

My story

I started as an operator, not as a software company. My day-to-day work was building and running content websites: researching products and markets, publishing in-depth articles, and keeping a growing set of sites healthy.

The work grew faster than the hours in a day, so I began automating it, piece by piece: my own data collection service, research pipelines that compile structured briefs, writing workflows with built-in checks, and monitoring that catches broken pages before readers do. Today one person runs 8 websites with 1,581 published articles, audited every night.

Those internal tools are now becoming products. In 2026 I founded DatPilot to package what works and offer it to other businesses, starting with a web data API and WordPress services for Vietnamese companies. You can see the details on my projects page and read how things are built on the blog.

  1. Before

Ran content websites by hand: product research, long-form articles, and site maintenance.

  2. Then

Automated the work piece by piece: data collection, publishing, and nightly checks.

  3. 2026

Built my own crawler, a WordPress theme and plugin, and a content pipeline running 8 sites.

  4. 2026

Founded DatPilot to turn those internal tools into products, starting with a Data API and the DatPilot Portal.

What I believe

The standards behind my work

Operator first

I run online businesses myself. Every tool starts as a fix for a problem I hit in my own work, which keeps me honest about what is actually useful.

Accuracy over volume

Fast and wrong is a liability. My systems tie facts to sources, check their own output, and flag anything that needs a human look.

People stay in control

Agents do the heavy lifting; people make the calls. Every workflow has visible steps, logs, and approval points before anything goes public.

Ship, then measure

Small releases, real traffic, honest numbers. I keep the logs, compare results, and roll back what does not work.

Straight talk

No income screenshots and no overnight-success stories. When I share results, I share the context and the failures too.
